The Thermal-Fluids and Energy Systems Laboratory is pleased to announce that Dr. Yue Jin has received the 2026 Junior Faculty Excellence in Research Award from the University of Missouri College of Engineering.
The award recognizes outstanding research achievements and scholarly impact among early-career faculty members within the college.
According to the College of Engineering, Dr. Jin's research in fluid-flow mass and heat transfer is helping establish Mizzou as a leader in nuclear engineering. Since joining the University of Missouri, he has published numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and secured research funding from federal agencies, including the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the U.S. Department of the Interior.
Dr. Jin's research focuses on thermal-fluid sciences, heat transfer, two-phase flows, reactor thermal hydraulics, and advanced energy systems. His group develops advanced experimental diagnostics and predictive models to improve the understanding of complex thermal-fluid phenomena relevant to nuclear energy, thermal management, and next-generation engineering systems.
"This recognition reflects the outstanding efforts of our students, collaborators, and research partners," said Dr. Jin. "I am grateful for the support of the College of Engineering, the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, and everyone who has contributed to our research program."
The laboratory congratulates all faculty, staff, students, and alumni recognized at the 2026 Mizzou Engineering Awards Banquet.
